Our favorite New York trio is coming back to our screens in 2018 with new episodes.
Bless! The Bold Type was renewed for Season 2 and Season 3 on Freeform after a rocky beginning with ratings but an intense social media following as soon as the series premiered.
Jane taking on the story of Mia, a sexual assault survivor, led to an interesting conversation within the show on how she would write this piece. It wasn’t until Jacqueline revealed herself to also be a survivor that everything about the episode clicked.
The Bold Type has handled several intense issues over the course of its first season, but The Bold Type season finale tackled the biggest of all: sexual assault. It wasn’t easy hearing Mia’s pain and her story, along with seeing her endurance art, but it brought a new light to a topic that is constantly mishandled in Hollywood. As a victim of sexual assault myself, this episode really hit home for me, and the significance of this storyline goes well beyond a TV show.
When “#45” visits New York, the Scarlet staff are stuck in the building with the exception of Kat, who is at the airport with Adena whose facing deportation.
On The Bold Type Season 1 Episode 9, “Before Tequila Sunrise,” Jane makes a decision about Incite that no one saw coming, Sutton unfortunately makes a big mistake in her personal life, and Kat is about to lose everything for Adena. The lives of these girls are really blowing up.
One of the strongest hours yet of this Freeform series has two girls worried they may lose their jobs, leading to uncertain futures and very bold moves at work, while the other has to deal with the fact that her job is safe, but her friends’ jobs aren’t.
The Bold Type Season 1 Episode 8, “The End of the Beginning,” puts Kat in a very compromising position with her work and with her friends, while we see Tiny Jane freak out at the possibility she may be on the chopping block at Scarlet. Just another week on The Bold Type!
Sutton is riding high after an interesting networking event with fellow fashion assistants, while Kat must embrace the bad of being someone’s boss. (Also, shouldn’t she have experienced this at least once before since she’s been the Social Media Director for two years?)
On The Bold Type Season 1 Episode 7, “Three Girls in a Tub,” we’re given just that… twice… but not in the way anyone would expect, and not the same tub both times either. After an interesting night, Sutton must lay down horizontally on a cold, hard surface, which leads her to the bathroom. Can we all be Sutton Brady?
When Jane is given a new story, it brings back painful memories of her past, and a painful decision for her future. Meanwhile, Kat crosses several lines.

When Jane is given a story, it brings up memories of her past. Meanwhile, Sutton makes a big mistake during her first day in the fashion department.
On The Bold Type Season 1 Episode 6, “The Breast Issue,” the series tackles breast health and every day sexism as Kat protests Instagram’s “no-women’s-nipples” policy, while Jane deals with memories of her past and her mother dying of breast cancer while she struggles with the possibility of breast cancer being in her future.
On The Bold Type Season 1 Episode 5, Kat is put in an awkward position with Adena and her girlfriend, while Sutton makes a ballsy move to getting what she wants from her new job.

After Jane publishes a piece about an empowering woman who went from Wall Street to a strip club, she’s sued for defamation of character and it teaches Jane a few things about herself.
On The Bold Type Season 1 Episode 5, “No Feminism in the Champagne Room,” (which is probably my favorite episode title ever), Sutton’s excitement for her job as Oliver’s fashion assistant quickly dies down when she realizes the salary is much, much less than she anticipated.
On The Bold Type Season 1 Episode 4, Jane experienced her first orgasm and was invited to speak at a writers’ panel, while Kat got into some legal trouble during a night out with Adena. It was… very controversial, to say the least.
