The Bold Type Season 2 Episode 4 Preview: Love Me A Good Triangle

The Bold Type Season 2 Episode 4
The girls have a lot on their plates as they attempt to juggle problems both in and outside the office.

On The Bold Type Season 2 Episode 4, “OMG,” Kat and Adena have some communication issues when it comes to past lovers, Jane struggles with both Dr. Ben and Pinstripe, and Sutton runs into a problem while trying to make connections in the fashion world.

Trouble In Paradise

Jane: Jane is caught in between two men this week and not in the fun way. After an awkward and unexpected occurrence with Ben, Jane distances herself a bit to sort out how she feels about it and runs into Pinstripe in the process. Unsurprisingly, she convinces him to let her tag a long to an exclusive bar to hunt for a good story. However, we can all guess how Jane feels about gossip writing, so it might not pan out exactly how she wanted. After a day of dodging Ben’s phone calls and denying the sexual tension between her and Ryan, Jane opens up more about her past, and we get a look into why what happened with “The Good Doctor” really threw her.

I imagine people will agree and disagree with Jane a lot throughout this episode. Bottom line, she tangles with different moral dilemmas and it’s by far one of my favorite story arcs for her. Hopefully the show continues to touch on the subject.

Sutton: Grab your stress balls now everyone, because Sutton gets herself into a sticky situation. Our quietly determined girl is pretty hard on herself this week when she wrestles with the fact that she’s still an assistant. Unfortunately, her hard work isn’t always enough and she has to make more connections in the fashion world. It doesn’t take her long to introduce herself to Brooke, a B-list celebrity, who knows the ins and outs of the fashion industry and can help jumpstart Sutton’s career. Although the friendship was off to a great start, things go downhill towards the end of the night and Sutton has to make a decision about how to handle it. The whole situation is incredibly stressful, but props to Sutton for (mostly) keeping her cool.

It seems like we might be seeing more of Brooke, could this be one of the first storylines that isn’t wrapped in a neat little bow by the end of the episode?

Kat and Adena: Adena got a little taste of Scarlet, and now it’s Kat’s turn for a look into the New York lesbian scene, although it might take some convincing. Adena starts out a little hesitant to introduce her two worlds to each other, while Kat couldn’t be more eager. Ultimately, they end up going out and things get a little heated. Prepare yourself now for all the angst, but don’t worry yourself too much. Every couple has couple drama, and that’s all this is. Kat didn’t realize how many friends, flings, and relationships Adena has had, and it doesn’t help her anxiety when Adena puts up a wall and avoids the issue. It’s later revealed why they’re both struggling, and the conversation takes an unexpected turn.

People need to keep in mind that arguing and conflict are apart of every normal and healthy relationship. They both learn a valuable lesson in this episode about communication, and in no way is that a bad thing.
