Supergirl Season 4 Episode 1

‘Supergirl’ Review: American Alien (Season 4 Episode 1)

Mercy and Otis Graves arrive in National City, causing a spike in hate crimes against aliens. Elsewhere, Kara is riding high (literally) after the events of Supergirl Season 3, and Superman being off-world is just letting her get even more time to shine.

On Supergirl Season 4 Episode 1, “American Alien,” the drama over Kara Danvers vs. Kara Zor-El seems to be gone as she’s embraced both sides of her identity and is finding a nice stride as a lead reporter for CatCo and the only Kryptonian hero on Earth. Is it too good to be true? Meanwhile, a new reporter, referred by Cat Grant, is introduced as Kara’s mentee, and Alex continues leading the DEO. ‘Supergirl’ Season 4 Preview: Life Is Better Than Ever

When Supergirl Season 4 Episode 1 premieres, Kara is high on life. She’s embracing her identities as Supergirl and Kara Danvers, and, for once, Kara’s life is exactly how she wants it.

Here at The TV Type, we had the opportunity to watch an early screening of the Supergirl premiere episode. One thing I’ve had to tell myself, too many times to count, going into Supergirl Season 4 is to give the show a fresh start. This is the first season without the input of Andrew Kreisberg who, let’s face it, dragged the female hero down with his misogynistic and predatory behavior. Supergirl Season 3 Episode 23

Supergirl Review: Battles Lost and Won (Season 3 Episode 23)

As Reign and the witches attempt to turn Earth into a new Krypton, the final battle leads to interesting results, which send our beloved characters on several new paths.

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 23 marks the end of a rocky, messy season, and Kara’s life is now on track once again, or so it seems. Meanwhile, two (three, maybe?) consistent characters take their leave, another unmasks, and Kara’s debate between Kara Danvers and Kara Zor-El seemingly comes to a close. Supergirl Season 3 Episode 22

Supergirl Review: Make It Reign (Season 3 Episode 22)

Stranded on Argo City, Kara, Alura, and Mon-El attempt to find a way back to Earth, or at least a way to warn their friends at the DEO that danger is coming. Meanwhile, Sam’s condition worsens.

On Supergirl Season 3 Episode 22, “Make It Reign,” the three sisters attempt to revive Reign from her dormant state as their plan to turn Earth into the next Krypton goes into effect. Elsewhere, as Reign gets stronger, Sam gets weaker, and time is almost up for Sam to make her final recovery and escape from the Worldkiller mess. Will death be her future? Supergirl Review: Not Kansas (Season 3 Episode 21)

After discovering her mother and a small portion of Argo City survived the destruction of Krypton, Kara leaves Earth to spend some quality time with her mother. However, once she arrives, strange things start to happen to Kara Zor-El causing her to feel like an outsider in this life, too.

On Supergirl Season 3 Episode 21, “Not Kansas,” Kara and Mon-El struggle to figure out what’s happening in Argo City, while the DEO deals with high-tech weaponry hitting the streets of National City. Was J’onn’s final call the right one, though? Continue reading “Supergirl Review: Not Kansas (Season 3 Episode 21)”

The Flash Season 4 Episode 23

The Flash Review: We Are The Flash (Season 4 Episode 23)

SEASON FINALE – Team Flash gets help from a surprising ally in their battle against DeVoe (Neil Sandilands).

The Flash Season 4 Episode 23, “We Are The Flash,” brought an end to DeVoe’s reign of terror as Flash and the team were pressed to come up with a way to prevent the Enlightenment from coming to fruition before the entire planet was dumbed down. The finale was entertaining enough, though somewhat predictable in its proceedings. It still delivered a fairly entertaining episode in an otherwise lackluster season. The Flash Season 4 Episode 22

The Flash Review: Think Fast (Season 4 Episode 22)

When DeVoe assaults an A.R.G.U.S. facility to complete his Enlightenment Machine, Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes the only way he can stop him is if he allows Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) to accompany him into the facility. Still shaken by Ralph’s death, Barry isn’t sure he wants to risk any more of his friends’ lives and considers taking on DeVoe solo.

The Flash Season 4 Episode 22, “Think Fast,” was the first really good episode of the series we’ve had in a while. There was only one drawback, but even with that it still delivered an entertaining and inventive story building up a fair amount of anticipation for next week’s finale, just as a proper penultimate episode should. Supergirl Season 3 Episode 18

Supergirl Review: Shelter from the Storm (Season 3 Episode 18)

After absorbing the powers of the other Worldkillers, Reign sets her sights on Ruby to finish destroying Samantha Arias, which is the only piece holding her back from total power.

On Supergirl Season 3 Episode 18, “Shelter from the Storm,” Ruby’s life is in danger as Reign begins hunting her, while Kara still struggles to understand Lena’s point of view on this entire fiasco. Meanwhile, the Legion returns to the future… until Brainy’s calculations prove that Supergirl and her team “need” just one of the Legion members to exponentially increase their odds of defeating Reign. Why couldn’t it have been Imra? Continue reading “Supergirl Review: Shelter from the Storm (Season 3 Episode 18)”

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 17

Supergirl Review: Trinity (Season 3 Episode 17)

The Worldkillers have finally been united, and their plan to destroy Earth begins with an eclipse that threatens to lower the temperature and take away Supergirl’s powers for good.

On Supergirl Season 3 Episode 17, “Trinity,” Kara is taken aback after learning Lena was hiding such a huge secret about Sam and kryptonite from her, while Sam struggles to stay alive in the Kryptonian valley she’s been trapped in. Continue reading “Supergirl Review: Trinity (Season 3 Episode 17)”

The Flash Season 4 Episode 21

The Flash Review: Harry and the Harrisons (Season 4 Episode 21)

With DeVoe’s Enlightenment device nearly complete, in order to disable it The Flash (Grant Gustin) and his team must put their faith in an unlikely ally – Amunet Black (guest star Katee Sackhoff). Meanwhile, Harry (Tom Cavanagh) hits an all-time low when the “Council of Wells” kicks him out but then Cisco (Carlos Valdes) introduces him to the “Council of Harrisons.”

The Flash Season 4 Episode 21, “Harry and the Harrisons,” once again failed to really impress or advance the endgame in any major way. While the main plot with Flash, Caitlin, and Amunet Black was good enough, the time devoted to Harry and the new Council of Harrisons not only seemed like a waste, but was cringeworthy.
