Supergirl Review: Battles Lost and Won (Season 3 Episode 23)

As Reign and the witches attempt to turn Earth into a new Krypton, the final battle leads to interesting results, which send our beloved characters on several new paths.

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 23 marks the end of a rocky, messy season, and Kara’s life is now on track once again, or so it seems. Meanwhile, two (three, maybe?) consistent characters take their leave, another unmasks, and Kara’s debate between Kara Danvers and Kara Zor-El seemingly comes to a close. Elsewhere, as Reign gets stronger, Sam gets weaker, and time is almost up for Sam to make her final recovery and escape from the Worldkiller mess. Will death be her future? Supergirl Season 3 Episode 21

Supergirl Review: Not Kansas (Season 3 Episode 21)

After discovering her mother and a small portion of Argo City survived the destruction of Krypton, Kara leaves Earth to spend some quality time with her mother. However, once she arrives, strange things start to happen to Kara Zor-El causing her to feel like an outsider in this life, too.

On Supergirl Season 3 Episode 21, “Not Kansas,” Kara and Mon-El struggle to figure out what’s happening in Argo City, while the DEO deals with high-tech weaponry hitting the streets of National City. Was J’onn’s final call the right one, though? Continue reading “Supergirl Review: Not Kansas (Season 3 Episode 21)”

The Flash Season 4 Episode 23

The Flash Review: We Are The Flash (Season 4 Episode 23)

SEASON FINALE – Team Flash gets help from a surprising ally in their battle against DeVoe (Neil Sandilands).

The Flash Season 4 Episode 23, “We Are The Flash,” brought an end to DeVoe’s reign of terror as Flash and the team were pressed to come up with a way to prevent the Enlightenment from coming to fruition before the entire planet was dumbed down. The finale was entertaining enough, though somewhat predictable in its proceedings. It still delivered a fairly entertaining episode in an otherwise lackluster season. Supergirl Season 3 Episode 18

Supergirl Review: Shelter from the Storm (Season 3 Episode 18)

After absorbing the powers of the other Worldkillers, Reign sets her sights on Ruby to finish destroying Samantha Arias, which is the only piece holding her back from total power.

On Supergirl Season 3 Episode 18, “Shelter from the Storm,” Ruby’s life is in danger as Reign begins hunting her, while Kara still struggles to understand Lena’s point of view on this entire fiasco. Meanwhile, the Legion returns to the future… until Brainy’s calculations prove that Supergirl and her team “need” just one of the Legion members to exponentially increase their odds of defeating Reign. Why couldn’t it have been Imra? Continue reading “Supergirl Review: Shelter from the Storm (Season 3 Episode 18)”

‘The Flash’ Needs to Bring Caitlin and Cisco Out of the Background

With The Flash Season 4 focusing on Ralph’s journey to heroism, Iris’ new role as the leader of Team Flash and Harry’s brilliant mind being their “best option” for taking on The Thinker, Caitlin and Cisco have drifted to the background.

It’s disappointing, because their characters have been irreplaceable members of Team Flash from the very beginning. Whether as Caitlin and Cisco or as their heroic alter egos (if Caitlin gets her powers back), the two could easily be incorporated into every aspect of Team Flash’s process, so there’s no excuse for not utilizing their skills and abilities to save the day. James and Winn

‘Supergirl’ Needs More of the Friendship Between James and Winn

Though the pair originally started out as frenemies on Supergirl, Winn and James have grown close, especially over the last two seasons.

Their friendship seems to be the one part of their lives that is “normal,” or whatever anyone with an alien as a friend can call normal. As Winn dealt with the death of his father and arrival of his mother on Season 3 Episode 14, James clearly helped him through it, and it just shows how far their friendship has come, even though we’ve seen so little of it. Arrow Season 6 Episode 21

Arrow Review: Docket No. 11-19-41-73 (Season 6 Episode 21)

Diaz’s plan comes to fruition when Oliver Queen is put on trial under the suspicion he’s been operating as the Green Arrow for multiple years now. Meanwhile, a familiar face returns, but in an unexpected way.

On Arrow Season 6 Episode 21, “Docket No. 11-19-41-73,” the Arrow writers apparently lost their distaste for writing courtroom scenes, which was one of the “many reasons” they killed off Earth-1 Laurel Lance, to put Oliver Queen on trial for an entire episode with multiple accounts of perjury. The Flash Season 4 Episode 20

The Flash Review: Therefore She Is (Season 4 Episode 20)

Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash team up with Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) to try to thwart Thinker’s plan. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Gypsy have a heart to heart to talk about their relationship.

The Flash Season 4 Episode 20, “Therefore She Is,” finally brought viewers to the endgame as DeVoe’s plan was revealed to Flash and his team. There were some good moments here, but they were once again hampered by more problems that have become too common as of late on the series. It’s a shame since this could have been a stronger episode otherwise. Continue reading “The Flash Review: Therefore She Is (Season 4 Episode 20)”

Imra

Did Imra Make the Right Decision with Pestilence on ‘Supergirl’?

With the third Worldkiller finally active, and the Legion’s mission to come back to Supergirl’s time and stop her before she turns into Blight revealed, Supergirl showed a clash in ideology between Imra (Saturn Girl) and Kara.

As they attempted to unveil the identity of Pestilence on Supergirl Season 3 Episode 16, Imra’s vision of killing the Worldkiller before she left a permanent mark on the world put her at odds with Kara, who just wants to help save those that are stuck within, i.e. Julia.
