Jessie Quick returns from Earth-2 to enlist Barry and the others to rescue her father, who has been captured by Gorilla Grodd and taken to Gorilla City. Will they be able to save Harry?
The Flash Season 3 Episode 13 has a pretty exciting premise. Gorilla Grodd has been one of the series’ best villains and has been adapted really well. Everything about his CGI looks amazing for a television show, so his return has been highly anticipated.
What will really be exciting, though, is seeing Gorilla City brought to life. It may not look as advanced as the comics since it doesn’t have the budget a full scale feature film would bring, but considering how well they’ve made Grodd and King Shark look in previous episodes, Gorilla City should still look awesome.
Another reason to look forward to this episode is simply to once again see Earth-2. The alternate Earth was glimpsed at last year for a couple episodes which saw the characters leading some very different lives.
Hopefully we’ll see the Earth-2 versions of some of them again, like Barry and Iris. Candice Patton’s Earth-2 Iris in particular was a lot of fun to see and gave the actress a lot more to do in those episodes other than be a damsel in distress.
It’s also not surprising that this will be a two-part event. The Flash is really going to try making this conflict as big as they can, especially if the gorillas end up travelling back to Earth-1.
Remember, one of the headlines we saw in the future mentioned something about gorillas invading the city. It’s very likely we’ll be seeing those events play out in the next episode.
However, something that is very curious is Cisco’s last line in the trailer about “Speedster vs. Supergirl.” Is Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl scheduled to make an appearance in this crossover? Their next meeting isn’t supposed to be until the musical crossover in March, but maybe they’ll pull her in for a quick save?
Also, it’s very funny that The Flash keeps finding ways to reference Tom Felton’s career. First The Philosopher’s Stone, now the Planet of the Apes? I wonder if they’ll be able to sneak in any other references this season.
The Flash Season 3 Episode 13 airs February 13 at 8/7c on The CW!
