Considering the world is destined for destruction and irradiation, the folks in The 100 are taking it quite well. In fact, they all but forgot it was happening on The 100 Season 4 Episode 1 because they were worried about the coalition.
On The 100 Season 4 Episode 2, “Heavy Lies the Crown,” the fate of the world lies in the balance, but Skykru is too focused on the Ice Nation to worry about the imminent irradiation of Earth.
In order to save a group of slaves from the Ice Nation, Clarke, Bellamy, and Raven work with the other delinquents to save the day. The problem of the episode lies in the bomb they have to use, and how to assemble that.
Should we be worried that the focus of the season seems to lie in the threat from the Ice Nation and not on the nuclear reactors? There aren’t that many episodes in the season, and considering these reactors are spread out all over the planet, it’s going to be a daunting task and take everyone they have to work out a solution.
This isn’t another situation where Clarke can save the day on her own; she’s not a scientist, and they’re going to need the best minds to work together to stop this and save them all.
The problem has already begun as we saw a woman incinerated by a desert storm at the end of the premiere, so it’s likely many of the people of the clans will fall ill and cause questions to arise about what is causing this. How long can Clarke and her friends maintain this secret and keep the peace?
Whenever everyone else find something out, Arkadia is going to have to fend for themselves or protect themselves from war, because no one is going to be happy they knew the world was ending and didn’t share that information.
The 100 Season 4 Episode 2 airs Wednesday, February 8 at 9/8c on The CW!
