Jimmy Olsen is finally getting his chance to shine as he’s begun his descent into the Guardian story that transforms him from sidekick to hero. But in a world full of aliens, how useful is a vigilante?
Supergirl Season 2 Episode 6, “Changing,” delivers on a story for James, but takes away from Kara to do so. Her powers will be drained by an alien parasite, which sounds really familiar and overdone in order to give supporting characters an opportunity to shine.
Kara’s adorable as ever in the trailer as she’s basically like, “Come at me, bro!” to a giant alien monster that’s destroying National City and is probably 10 times larger than she is. Is the Guardian really expected to take on an alien of that caliber
The official description released by The CW is: “The Guardian comes to help after a parasite alien drains Supergirl’s powers; Mon-El considers a new career; Alex copes with a new reality.”
Alex copes with a new reality… you mean being gay? Let’s all clap in unison for the beautiful thoughts put into Alex’s coming out story and how important the series is making it. It’s not just a part of her character; as she explained in Season 2 Episode 5, being gay explains why she’s always felt out of place for her entire life.
She got everything perfect, but she always felt imperfect and could never pinpoint why until her introduction to Maggie Sawyer finally opened her eyes.
It’s really beautiful.
Elsewhere, what career could Mon-El be considering? A pimp? He certainly has a way with the ladies, so we wouldn’t put it past him and his Daxam ways. He’s a beautiful, yet obnoxious and ignorant frat boy that needs to learn the problematic nature of his behavior.
Supergirl continues Mondays at 8/7c on The CW!
