With Mon-El’s true background revealed after his parents showed up on Earth, his relationship with Kara is on the rocks. While he’s set on staying with Kara, they’re willing to do anything to bring Mon-El back with them and make him the King of Daxam to reunite their people.
On Supergirl Season 2 Episode 17, “Distant Sun,” Kara is forced to defend herself when a bounty is put on her head. The question is, who put out the bounty? Was it Lillian Luthor trying to get the aliens of National City to take out Cadmus’ biggest threat for them? Or could it have been Mon-El’s parents, who see that she’s the main thing tying him to Earth and keeping him from returning to Daxam.
The episode synopsis reads, “A large bounty is put out on Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and aliens from far and near attack National City intent on taking out the woman of steel. Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) run into Maggie’s ex-girlfriend, Emily (guest star Hayley Sales), who is in town for a week. Hank (David Harewood) gets an interesting order from President Marsdin (guest star Lynda Carter).”
While who put the bounty on Kara is the most compelling story, the most intriguing is whatever order President Marsdin gives to J’onn. It’ll be nice to see Lynda Carter again, especially after the reveal that her character is an alien running the free world. What does this mean? Well, it means that an alien worked their way up the political latter and was voted President of the United States. How would Cadmus react to that? Could they take out the President?
Supergirl has to start gearing up with their final Cadmus arc for the season, and it’ll see what’s next for Supergirl and her super friends. Cadmus has not held back so far, so whatever their final plan is, it’ll be killer.
Supergirl Season 2 Episode 17 airs Monday, March 27 at 8/7c on The CW.
