Supergirl Season 4 Episode 2

‘Supergirl’ Review: Fallout (Season 4 Episode 2)

After the revelation that President Olivia Marsdin is an alien swept the country, Supergirl found herself as a beacon of hope for the world to unite and accept the differences among the citizens. Doesn’t look like it worked though.

On Supergirl Season 4 Episode 2, President Marsdin resigned as Supergirl paid her a visit at the White House. (Where was Cat Grant? You’re telling me that Cat Grant, the Press Secretary and Supergirl’s first supporter, wouldn’t have been present at a meeting between these two ladies? The meeting should have happened in National City if the writers couldn’t have even brought Calista back for a five second scene.) Meanwhile, Mercy Graves strikes again, but this time she goes after a much closer target. Continue reading “‘Supergirl’ Review: Fallout (Season 4 Episode 2)”

Supergirl Season 4 Episode 1

‘Supergirl’ Review: American Alien (Season 4 Episode 1)

Mercy and Otis Graves arrive in National City, causing a spike in hate crimes against aliens. Elsewhere, Kara is riding high (literally) after the events of Supergirl Season 3, and Superman being off-world is just letting her get even more time to shine.

On Supergirl Season 4 Episode 1, “American Alien,” the drama over Kara Danvers vs. Kara Zor-El seems to be gone as she’s embraced both sides of her identity and is finding a nice stride as a lead reporter for CatCo and the only Kryptonian hero on Earth. Is it too good to be true? Meanwhile, a new reporter, referred by Cat Grant, is introduced as Kara’s mentee, and Alex continues leading the DEO. Supergirl Season 4

‘Supergirl’ Season 4 Preview: Life Is Better Than Ever

When Supergirl Season 4 Episode 1 premieres, Kara is high on life. She’s embracing her identities as Supergirl and Kara Danvers, and, for once, Kara’s life is exactly how she wants it.

Here at The TV Type, we had the opportunity to watch an early screening of the Supergirl premiere episode. One thing I’ve had to tell myself, too many times to count, going into Supergirl Season 4 is to give the show a fresh start. This is the first season without the input of Andrew Kreisberg who, let’s face it, dragged the female hero down with his misogynistic and predatory behavior. Parks and Recreation

Parks and Recreation: The Greatest Comedy TV Show

To those who haven’t had the privilege of watching Parks and Recreation before: immediately stop what you’re doing, load Netflix on your television or computer, and turn on NBC’s late comedy.

Parks and Recreation, which ran from 2009-2015 on NBC, stars an amazingly talented cast led by Amy Poehler, who you may recognize from her time on Saturday Night Live or her recent thrilling film co-starring Tina Fey: Sisters (2015). The series tells the story of a small, fictional town in Indiana, Pawnee, and the passionate and large, albeit crazy, reckless, and dysfunctional town residents. And, honestly, Parks and Recreation should henceforth be heralded as one of the most beautiful and funny comedies ever created, which is why everyone should be watching this show. Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 5

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Review: Princeton Offense (Season 1 Episode 5)

After nearly killing herself, Tandy has newfound control over her abilities, at least the present ones, while the bond between Tandy and Tyrone is further developed through their connected powers.

On Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 5, “Princeton Offense,” witnessing the death of Greg the lawyer barely makes a mark on Tandy, while Tyrone struggles with his usual mundane activities. Meanwhile, Detective O’Reilly is now after the killer of Billy Johnson, which brings her closer to the fold. How long before she discovers this all goes much deeper than just a teenage boy’s murder? Continue reading “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Review: Princeton Offense (Season 1 Episode 5)”

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 23

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 23 marks the end of a rocky, messy season, and Kara’s life is now on track once again, or so it seems. Meanwhile, two (three, maybe?) consistent characters take their leave, another unmasks, and Kara’s debate between Kara Danvers and Kara Zor-El seemingly comes to a close. Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 3

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Review: Stained Glass (Season 1 Episode 3)

After an unexpected shooting, Tandy beings to recover from a car accident, but the impact of this event has, again, put her on a new path. Meanwhile, Tyrone attempts to deal with the burning rage and overwhelming fear within him, which leads him to a Voodoo priestess.

On Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 3, “Stained Glass,” Tyrone and Tandy’s lives are put on course to always overlap with one another’s. While dealing with the aftermath of all of the shitty things that have happened recently in her life, Tandy tries to leave New Orleans for good. Supergirl Season 3 Episode 22

Supergirl Review: Make It Reign (Season 3 Episode 22)

Stranded on Argo City, Kara, Alura, and Mon-El attempt to find a way back to Earth, or at least a way to warn their friends at the DEO that danger is coming. Meanwhile, Sam’s condition worsens.

On Supergirl Season 3 Episode 22, “Make It Reign,” the three sisters attempt to revive Reign from her dormant state as their plan to turn Earth into the next Krypton goes into effect. Continue reading “Supergirl Review: Make It Reign (Season 3 Episode 22)”

Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 1

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Review: First Light and Suicide Sprints (Season 1 Episode 1 and 2)

The story of Tandy and Tyrone begins long before their powers become the defining quality of their lives. Instead, as children, the two recall a time not long ago that changed everything about themselves and set them on new paths.

On Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 1, “First Light,” Tandy and Tyrone’s lives are thrown off by an accident at Roxxon Corporation which, unbeknownst to them, altered them in ways they are just beginning to figure out. The night their bodies changed is also the night both lost those they were closest with—Tandy’s father and Tyrone’s brother—and it changed their futures and set them on a path to (eventually) take on Roxxon for the damages they’ve caused.
